Well, I can’t quite believe it – 2016 is almost over. As much as it pains me to say it, there has been a lot of change and a number of shocks this year. We simply cannot do a round-up of the year without mentioning the Brexit result and the impact this has had on our industry. And I can barely begin to think about the shock result over in America. But closer to home, this recent article in Construction News talks about an increasing number of construction companies going into administration, and cites Brexit for stalling projects and having an adverse impact on our sector.
However, although construction acts as a barometer for the economy as a whole, the number of firms that have gone bankrupt in 2016 still remains really low (and we can’t blame them all on Brexit, as tempting as that may be). So, overall, things are still looking positive, which is just as well because 2016 has been a busy and productive year for us at Temple Recruitment Specialists and we are looking forward to more of the same in 2017!
We started the year with some new members of the team, Amy, Ricia and Sophie and they’ve been busy filling roles for our growing number of candidates (and you can check out their profiles on LinkedIn). We celebrated our first birthday in March and welcomed the new Temple Recruitment mascot, the adorable Prince (named after one of my favourite artists who passed away in 2016 – again, another shocking element to 2016).
We also moved in to our new premises just off the Wellingborough Road, making it even easier for our candidates and clients to visit us. If you want to pop in and say hi then you can see where we are on this map on our website.
And finally, we are now a member of Construction Line, which will help us to have access to some of the best construction projects in the country, giving us the opportunity to provide varied and exciting opportunities for our candidates.
Just to let you all know, the team will be taking a short break over the festive period – we will close on Friday 23rd December and reopen again on Tuesday 3rd January 2017. If you need to get hold of us during that time, the best number is 07854 976999.
So, that’s all from me for now, on behalf of the team at Temple, I’d like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and look forward to working with you in 2017.
